15 November - Donuts

The day started out looking at olive wood at our friends' shops, Jimmy and Omar. Jimmy made us "breakfast" (falafel and hummus and juice). The students have given these guys so much business! They are great.

We wandered around the city. I went in the Church of the Holy Sepulchre for the second time ever. The stone they are touching and kissing is the stone they believe Christ's body was anointed on.

We sat down and had lunch in West Jerusalem. YUM. These fancy holiday donuts are in season!! We got some at a bakery called Marzipan. YUMMMM. The two men on the bike dressed in black are the "super cops"...they apparently have no rules and can fight anyone on the street and they are clearly heavily armed. Crazy. They are everywhere.

It was a fun day staying out in West Jerusalem until the sun went down, then we had a bus come and pick us up and take us back to the Center. 10 shekels. I got some light loose jeans from a thrift store that I LOVE on this street.
