NIMROD'S CASTLE

For a bit of a break from anything related to what we are studying, we stopped at this castle and got to run around for an hour. We (especially Clayton) got a kick out of yelling into the hills and hearing the echo come back exactly 3 seconds later.

Sunset on a mountain overlooking the border of Syria - WARZONE

30 November - Rain and Kibbutz

MOUNT TABOR

We took shuttles up this windy windy road to the tip top of Mount Tabor.

I hopped over that white fence to climb down through some thorns to look at these hats that had been dropped...none of them were very cool. Disappointed.

We got to MEGGIDDO next.

Maybe better recognized as Armageddon.  We have learned about many battles fought here, including one where King Tut (III) declared - "The capturing of Meggiddo is the capturing of 1,000 cities." (cue Prof. Chadwick's accent)

A stone manger, probably similar to the one Christ was laid in as a baby!

Clouds started rolling in...and before we knew it it was POURING!! We ran through the rest of the site to see a few things, and then we got onto the bus and listened to Dr. Whitchurch lecture about the site on the bus. I feel asleep for the entire thing. SORRY

JEZREEL VALLEY

Here we talked bout Ahab and Jezebel and her being eaten by dogs at the foot of the wall.  Still raining.

Kenzie had to pee really bad and so she squatted by this cactus HHAHA

We went straight into a tour of the kibbutz that owns the resort we are staying on!! They have HUGE banana plantations, and our guide taught us all about them.  The daughter, mother, and grandmother parts of the plant. It was so cool in there! The fields are covered by nets to protect against the wind so that their water doesn't dry up as quickly.
